Come to the Museum to join Leo from Humboldt Ink as he volunteers to show us how to make a traditional Filipino Parol lantern. These beautiful star-shaped lanterns are made with a bamboo star covered in coloured cellophane with matching tissue paper legs – and this year we even have mini, battery-operated string lights to go inside! This program is free and all supplied are included.
We are holding this workshop three times in November on Saturday, November 16, Thursday, November 28 and Saturday, November 30. Each workshop will start at 5pm each lantern takes about one and a half hours to complete. Children are welcome to attend with guardians but younger kids will need help so consider working on a lantern together.
There are a limited number of people who can sign up for each session, so call 306.682.5226 or email . This program is sponsored by the Friends on the Museum & Gallery.
